Our Background
New Hunt Farm is a family run mixed farm of suckling cows, cattle, sheep and horses. Our team is headed by me, Sue, I have been involved with horses and animals all my life. I enjoy hunting from September to March, helping to whip in for the local hunt and then my summers are taken up with breaking and producing our young horses and running our stud.
My daughter, Chloe, is 12 and has been around horses all her life. Her first days hunting was at 18 months old! Chloe rides, competes and handles all of our ponies and most of the horses too!
The third member of the team is Sarah Heathfield who has worked with and competed horses for over 20 years including many years working for an International horse charity specialising in the training and re homing of horses and ponies.
And of course I must not forget the final member of the team, my husband Andrew, who is also a livestock haulier. He is responsible for producing our nice hay and haylage, maintaining the lorry and generally keeping me sane!
All our horses and ponies, even my stallion Bo, are competed regularly at local riding club level and we also do some BE events. We like to put all our horses into as many different situations as possible as we believe this makes them better equipped to deal with life after they leave us. Every horse is treated as an individual and we aim to find the right owner so both horse and rider can enjoy life.
